Obama's grand victory in US presidential polls for another 4 years

The victory of President Barack Obama in the US elections for the second consecutive term may be fascinating in all respects but the challenges and problems on the issue of unemployment, recession, Gay and Lesbian await him eagerly to get back to his business in Oval Office. His victory margin this time is lesser than what he had recorded in his first victory in presidential elections. But one thing is clear that President Obama has certainly created a vote bank for his Democratic Party of Youths, Women, Hispanics, minority, poor and marginal sections of society. As far as India's relation with the US under president Obama is concerned, it has been good except his protectionist policy which hurts India economically. But he will have to balance his protectionist attitude towards outsourcing so far as India is concerned because the US also eyes on India's vast market potential to exploit economically, and that might help him overcome economic recession. President Obama in his second stint will have to clarify US view on Pakistan in the given situation of danger to peace not only in Asian region but also all over the world due to unchecked growth of terrorism there. His plan for US military pull-out from Afghanistan to begin in 2014 also needs to have a re-look. And the exercise of military pull-out should only begin after the peace is ensured there. India and America are the champions of democracy. The former is the largest and the later is the oldest. So, they can be natural allies. The campaigning during presidential elections in the US must be emulated by the political leaders and parties of our country. The relation between the ruling and the opposition should also be a lesson to be learnt by the Indian ruling and opposition leaders from the US. The way the losing presidential Republican Party candidate Mitt Romney has congratulated the winning incumbent President and Democratic Party candidate Barack Obama is exemplary. Both the US ruling and opposition parties have shown that the nation is above all their political interests. Barack Obama has won a historic election to get a second term as US President, overcoming a stiff challenge from Republican Mitt Romney defying concerns over his handling of economy and anxiety over the future. 51-year-old Obama is a votary of strong ties with India. He is the first black American to occupy the White House, scored what turned out to be a comfortable victory over Romney after a bitter and costly campaign running over months with his rivals attacking him on issues of unemployment and recession. Disproving predictions of a narrow victory in a very tight race, the incumbent won the election in crucial battleground states after a neck-and-neck race in the initial stages, getting 303 electoral votes against 206 of Romney in a college of 535 votes.
