Nitin Gadkari's continuance harmful

Now, the continuance of Nitin Gadkari any longer as BJP president when the demand of his resignation is being raised within the party would prove to be suicidal for it. BJP is the main opposition party of the nation. The ruling Congress-led UPA is already beset with the charges of corruption. In the given situation, the people could look towards the BJP, but when its party president Nitin Gadkari is himself facing a number of corruption charges, what the people can expect from it. Not only the present party president faces charges of corruption, a former president of BJP had already undergone imprisonment for a few months on the charge of taking money, which was caught on camera. BJP MP and the leading lawyer of the nation Ram Jethmalani had already demanded the resignation of Nitin Gadkari from the post of Party president. Now, Mahesh Jethmalani, an eminent lawyer and son of Ram Jethmalani, has resigned from the BJP National Executive Committee and said that he would not associate with the party as long as Nitin Gadkari remains its president. In the meanwhile, again Ram Jethmalani has made a fresh demand of Gadkari's resignation and said that three BJP leaders Yashwant Sinha, Jashwant Singh and Satrughan Sinha are in touch with him and support his demand, though BJP parliamentary party leader Sushma Swaraj has tweeted, favouring Nitin Gadkari to continue as party president. Apart from charges of corruption, Nitin Gadkari’s sense of comparison has thrown the party into great embarrassment. He has compared Swami Vivekanand with the proclaimed criminal and underworld don Dawood Ibrahim because the former used his IQ for the benefit of the people and the later for wrongdoing. It reflects that Nitin Gadkari's own IQ required to be measured immediately. When Nitin Gadkari was made BJP president on the recommendation of BJP's doting father Rashriya Swayam Sevak Sangh, it not only startled the top brass and workers of the party but also its supporters all over the nation. First of all, he is very much junior in politics and age to most of the leaders. He was also alien to the national politics before being made party president. He was a state leader of Maharashtra and in good book of the RSS. His only plus point is that he is running Business Empire in Nagpur and protégé of RSS. His meteoric rise in business and politics itself reflects some sort of underhand dealing being allegedly practised by him. In the charged atmosphere of corruption against political class in toto, any further continuance of Nitin Gadkari will cause irreparable loss for the BJP. Sooner the BJP get relieved of Nitin Gadkari, the better would be for the party.
