China relents a little on terror

It is in India's favour that Pak-based and supported terror organizations - Lashkar-e-Toiba, Jaish-e- Mohammad and Haqqani network - were specifically mentioned in the Brics Declaration at its Summit in Xiamen in China. China had already asked India not to mention terror at Brics Summit. China is still opposed to India's move at UN supported by US, UK etc. to get Jaish Chief Masood Azhar declared a global terrorist. It has still not budged from its stand of supporting all-weather friend Pakistan. Brics is meant for the cooperation of all types, especially economic, among the member countries. The issue of terror, illiteracy, poverty, ecological and health problems haunts the Brics most. The need of the hour for all the Brics members is to make a united effort to deal with the burning issues in the region unitedly. Without eliminating terror, peace is impossible in the region. And without peace, there cannot be any development. Despite facing the problem of terror, which emanates from Pakistan, it is surprising that China does not want to hear against Pakistan on this issue. At the last Brics Summit in Goa, Pak based terror organizations were not mentioned in the summit declaration. So, it is India's success that its relentless effort to fight terror yielded a result. But merely mentioning of the Pak -based terror organization in Xiamen Brics Declaration and not acting seriously against it will be of any meaning. Unless and until all Brics member countries sit together and discuss the issue impartially how to cope with terror effectively, it is fruitless to talk of against terror. Why the country which is alleged to have abetted, aided, nurtured and supported terror was not singled out. Prime Minister Narerndra Modi always put forth India's views on terror very strongly at all international platforms. Among the Brics members, India has the adequate saying. The close friendship between China and Pakistan must not be allowed to come in between two Brics nations. As the issue of terror is directly linked to Pakistan, the Brics member countries have obligation and responsibility to act together to wipe out terrorism from the face of the region. China must not come to the rescue of Pakistan when its involvement in spreading terror has been proved times without number. By supporting Pakistan on the issue of terror, China also weakens the fight against terrorism on the international basis. Afghanistan is the most affected country in the region by terrorism. India has a great role in the reconstruction of Afghanistan even at the cost of lives and property. Several Indians have perished in terror attack in Afghanistan. And it is the handiwork of Pakistan because India's growing clout and involvement in the reconstruction of Afghanistan has always been eye sore for Pakistan. So, China must rethink and stop supporting Pakistan on the issue of Terrorism. It may back its all weather friend on the economic front but act against it on the issue of terrorism. The growing terrorism in the region is posing a great threat to humanity. Terror must be dealt with iron hand and all Brics nations must speak in one voice against it. It is against humanity. It has neither any religion nor caste. So, Brics nation should have taken a vow to eliminate terrorism from the region and tread the path of progress and development together.
